WELCOME TO OUR AGENCY

Who Are Dance Afloat?

The Dance Afloat Agency was established in 2001 by Ballroom and Latin American dance champions, and professional dance instructors, Debbie & Kevin Snashall.  Both, Debbie & Kevin began their love of Ballroom and Latin American Dancing back in the 1970’s and they trained together at the Ipswich School of Dancing.

After several years competing in Amateur competitions both decided to undergo extensive training to become professional dance instructors.  As well as teaching and partnering young children and adults, to compete as they had in previous years, Debbie and Kevin continued competing on the professional circuit.  Amongst other titles, Debbie won the Professional All Ladies Latin American and Ballroom titles several times, while Kevin won the coveted Pierre Trophy twice and the Professional Ballroom Basic and Standard 5 dance trophy a total of seven times.

Debbie & Kevin’s careers in dancing continued and soon they were working on board Fred Olsen’s Black Watch Cruise Ship, as Dance Instructors and Entertainers to holidaying passengers. It was their passion of dance, coupled with the exciting cruising lifestyle that led Debbie and Kevin to start the UK based agency, Dance Afloat. They ran the dance agency business as well as continuing to work on board cruise liners, until a horrible twist of fate saw Kevin fall ill and in October 2005 Kevin sadly passed away at the young age of 42.

Today the agency is continuing to go from strength to strength and clients include, not only Cruise Line companies, but also UK based holiday companies too. Dance Afloat also now supplies; quality dance instructors, dance cabaret acts, Gentlemen Dance Hosts, Pianists, Singers, and Musicians. Debbie has appeared on National Prime time television promoting the agency.

MORE INFORMATION

What we do

Primarily, Dance Afloat provide Dance Hosts and Professional Dance Instructors to Cruise Line companies, for short-term working holiday contracts. We mediate, allocate and supply to the needs of Cruise Line or holiday companies, while continually seeking to grow our client database of talents and sociable entertainers, keeping the world dancing.

We have expected standards that go beyond professional qualifications and experience. Confident socialising, excellent manners and good fitness are essential. Ideally, you would have an inherent love for dancing, or entertaining, and should not view your responsibilities as purely a job, especially as you may be disappointed to learn that dance hosting is not a paid position.

Sailing to exciting destinations on a luxury vessel is a regular availability for Gentlemen Dance Hosts or Pro Couple Instructors. Both, Fred Olsen and Cunard supply us with Host programmes for working holiday travel, so you do not pay for your Cruise. You will be representing our agency with any work contracts that we offer, so we expect very best efforts and are here to support you at all times. Join us as a member for access to latest news, details & support.

All Gentlemen Dance Hosts, Dance Cabaret Acts and Dance Instructors are interviewed, auditioned and selected to provide a first class service and good competent standards of dance and entertainment. To attend an audition in the UK you will need to pre-register with us and have access to our members area so that you can be up-to-date with details.
