WELCOME TO OUR AGENCY

Who Are Dance Afloat?

The Dance Afloat Agency was established in 2001 by Ballroom and Latin American dance champions, and professional dance instructors, Debbie & Kevin Snashall.  Both Debbie & Kevin began their love of Ballroom and Latin American Dancing back in the 1970’s and they trained together at the Ipswich School of Dancing.

After several years competing in Amateur competitions both decided to undergo extensive training to gain their professional qualifications.  As well as teaching and partnering young children and adults to compete as they had in previous years, Debbie and Kevin continued competing on the professional circuit.  Amongst other titles, Debbie won the Professional All Ladies Latin American and Ballroom titles several times, while Kevin won the coveted Pierre Trophy twice and the Professional Ballroom Basic and Standard 5 dance trophy a total of seven times.

In 1999 Debbie & Kevin were given the opportunity of a lifetime when they accepted the role of Resident Dance Instrictors onboard Fred. Olsen’s Black Watch cruise ship.

During their time onboard they gained all the knowledge and experience required to know exactly what was expected of Dance Hosts and Instructors alike.

Sadly, in 2003 a horrible twist of fate saw Kevin fall ill and in October 2005 Kevin sadly passed away at the young age of 42.

Knowing how much Kevin enjoyed teaching people to dance and his love of the sea, Debbie decided straight away to continue to grow Dance Afloat and to date she still continues to teach on cruise ships herself.

All of the cruise companies we supply have Dance Host programmes for working holiday travel, so you do not pay for your Cruise. You will be representing our agency as well as the cruise line with any work contracts that we offer, so we expect very best efforts and of course, we are here to support you at all times.

Cabaret Acts and Pro Couple Instructors will be paid a fee for any work undertaken. You will also be expected to conduct yourself with great professionalism at all times as you will be representing Dance Afloat as your placing agent aswell as the cruise line you are working for.
